With a really heavy heart I want to let you all know that Big Jack Wilson, friend of many in here Passed away around 3:00 PM on Monday at home with Dianne and their son Jake and grand daughter. His suffering of the past week has ended.

I talked with Dianne tonight and she asked me to post on the forums for her. I started this as new thread as this will be the place I direct Diane too to view condolences and anything you would like to share.

We had planned to make one last trip to Georgia this weekend. Had the privileged of riding with him on two trips, one to New York and one to Arizona and at a number of rallies. An American hero who served in Vietnam, and most never knew the pain he carried from that war. I was proud to have shared the road with him.

Jack, my friend and brother, I would say rest, but I don't think you will...so I will say ride on my brother..ride on.

I'm very sorry to hear that Big Jack has passed, but I know he fought the good fight and he was loved by his family and friends.

I was also privileged to have him (along with Eddy and Todd) spend the evening with me and my wife at our home in Denver before we all rode our Thunderbirds out to Prescott, AZ for the SWTF Rally in June of 2011.

I've posted this before, but you'll see Jack come blasting past me (doing about 100 mph) around 2:51 in the video below...

I know he absolutely loved that run through Monument Valley and his riding with Eddy and Todd.... even the snowy and cold bits they did towards the end. It's too bad he didn't get a chance to throw his leg over the 'Bird's saddle one last time, but I'll always remember him blasting off into the distance on his Triumph.

Ride on, big guy!

I didn't personally know Jack but he was certainly well-liked and respected both by those who did, and by those of us who knew him only through his contribution to this forum. He will be missed.

Condolences to Dianne and family, our thoughts are with you.

Diane,

Like most here I never met Jack, and in fact i never really heard a lot from him because he wasn't that active on the forum. But from what few words of his i read it was immediately obvious what a sweet and gentle soul he was. People like that only need to say a few words and you recognize that they are that kind of person immediately. I know that you know i'm not just saying this to be kind and polite at such a sad time because you know it's true. I wish i coulda met the big guy and rode with him. It's not right that things like this happen to people like him. And to you and your family Diane my deepest condolences. I know this particular pain and i'm sorry you and yours have to endure it. May Jack rest in peace.

First person in the USA we know of to own the Thunderbird. If they have them in heaven i'm sure he's riding one right now. He loved that bike as much as anyone and more than most. Ride on Brother....

Condolences to all of the family and friends of Big Jack. He was obviously deeply loved.

Although we had never met, I knew him to be a keen Triumph enthusiast just like me. That wonderful video is an inspiration to ride.

Ride in peace.

This forum has made the world a smaller place for people sharing an interest and there are certain characters that rise to the top through a combination of written words and reputation, Big Jack was such a person. Although many of us didn't have the privilege of physically meeting him, his posts and the more recent posts tracking his declining health have touched us all. I'm sure he will be remembered by a lot of members across the world for a very long time. My thoughts are with his family.

Amen

It is always sad to loose a friend and family member. Through this forum we have all got to know new friends and aquaintences with a common interest in not only the Thunderbird but motorcycling as a whole.
My thoughts are with Big Jacks family and I hope Big Jack himself finds himself enjoying perfect roads
